I do think that it is a nice thing to select a race. and you could give them advantadges, but also disadvantadges. and with those advantadges and disadvantages you could do a strange thing, not the usual stuff iike that forinstance an elf can handle a bow very well. but think of something different. vvv - veni vidi vici
Like if you had an archer, have 3 different types:
1. Archer could be better at long range than 2. 2. archer could be better at close range than number 1. 3. archer could be better than both of them, but start with lower health.
This is just an example. But thats why i think races are good :P
